A Dandelion Linked Verse Tanka

Here is rugby843’s entry in Colleen’s Weekly #Tanka Tuesday #Poetry Challenge 85* [my pick for winner of this week’s challenge and the prompt for my Linked Verse response that follows it]:

Be quick to see it
A bright yellow spiky bud
A delicious weed, enjoy
The gold soon turns to feathers
Floating lightly to reseed.

by RUGBY843

Root out quick by spring,
summer they’ll be up again.
Rubbing under chin,

heart aglow with yellow wealth,**
constancy of gold, itself.***

*In response to COLLEEN’S WEEKLY #TANKA TUESDAY #POETRY CHALLENGE NO. 85, HURRY & LAST, #SYNONYMSONLY Words [not] to use: {hurry, last};

**To find out if you will be rich, put a dandelion flower under your chin, and the degree of the glow on your chin will be the degree of your financial success. – Dandelions in Magic & Superstition

***Yes, I know Tanka does not rhyme, but why not, if it makes me happy?
